DAVE MCGARY HEARTS OF CONVICTION Warrior Series Hearts of Conviction depicts a Lakota warrior and his wife in a quiet and tender moment with thoughts of the future on their minds. Hearts of Conviction is a continuation of images honoring the Stronghearts Society which was a select group of warriors dedicated to the defense of the tribe. The scene depicted is especially poignant since this warrior has been given the honor of being chosen to fight in an upcoming battle. He will establish a position on the battlefield and stake one end of his sash to the ground with his staff. It will mark him as a brave and strong warrior and a target for his enemies. His mind is focused on the battle to come, but his heart is committed to the protection of his family and the tribe.
